Week 15 - Another Week

Well some pretty interesting things happened this week.

On Tuesday there was a reunion of all the District Leaders in the mission, so I went on divisions with Elder Bischoff, another missionary that is still in training... I was so worried about how well that was going to go because we were in his area, and he only had 2 weeks in his area. Luckily though, he actually knew his area pretty well; he had difficulties talking with people still, but actually, I didn't. Benefits of a Latino comp right?

We had another activity that Michelle went to on Wednesday and we showed her a video about temple work and family history because she likes that topic so much, we are just hammering it into her brain. It's really impressive how well she understands what we teach, we just need to get her to FEEL it a little bit more, but we're going to give another shot at a baptismal date tomorrow now that she's starting to attend church a little more. I'm really hoping the one session she went to with us for General Conference on Sunday morning helped her feel something. I'm really excited for tomorrow because we're just going to have question day. She has a sticky note for all of her first time at church and general conference questions that we're going to do nothing but answer tomorrow, so that will be super fun.

We met a woman while contacting this week that we really want to find again because she was really funny. She just yelled at us that she already knew everything, and after the contact we just kept freaking out that she already knew everything and that we needed to call President to tell him that we found someone that knew everything. I could use some answers to questions from someone like that.

Maria can only visit with us on Tuesday, Thursday, and the weekends because she works the other days, but we couldn't find her on Thursday to teach a much needed lesson to get her ready for her baptism this weekend, but we were passing by her house on Friday to visit a different investigator nearby, and she was just chilling outside, so we stopped by with her really fast and got to teach it. We're going to talk to her again tomorrow, interview Thursday, baptism Saturday. WHOO!!!

Also, another fun side note:  when we went to find our investigator Fabian, we encountered some Testigos... and the next street about 6 more... and the next street about 4... and another companionship on both sides of the next street. Fabian wasn't there so we didn't  hesitate and we just ran away because we were surrounded on all sides by tons of Testigos. Luckily we didn't get into any battles, but Elder Hernandez has already told me how to deal with any Testigo that tries to fight with you.
1. Anytime they try to use the Scriptures against you, tell them you want the scriptures before and after it also.
2. Tell them to tell you not why you're wrong, but why they're right; they struggle with that a little bit.
I'm not going to start anything, but I've got some back pocket stuff just in case.

Well that was basically this week. We have other investigators and we're finding decently well, but those are the topping stories for the week.
Nos vemos!
