Week 19 - The First week with Elder Rojas
This week was just awesome, not without its challenges, but some seriously good stuff happened!
First of all, even though it was the week of changes where we lose an extra day for travels, we still managed to keep up with the goal with finding 7 new people to teach during the week. We are now on a 4 week streak of hitting the finding goal.
First we found Jesus. He is really capo, he reads the bible all the time but doesn't go to church because nobody does what they're preaching and he got sick of it. We taught the Restoration to him and he understood really well. He said that it made perfect sense that if Joseph Smith really did what he said he did that the Church was true and hay que seguirla (...and you have to follow it) which was really awesome. So we told him to read the Restoration pamphlet and pray and he said he would do it, si y si (yes and yes).
Cristian is still doing pretty good. He had a baptismal date, but he didn't come to church so he lost it because they have to come to church 3 times to get baptized, so we'll have to re-invite him and get him to come, but he opened up to us so much about his life and why he felt like he needed more connection with God in his life, and it was really impressive. Hopefully we can keep helping him.
We found Eduardo y Claudia again and we taught them the Restoration again just because they didn't remember it very well but this time it seemed like it registered a little better for them. They also have a ton of faith and we're going to see if they read the Restoration pamphlet and pray, and if they do, we're going to give a baptismal date.
Michelle is still doing fine, just progressing slowly, but progressing nonetheless. We didn't have the chance to visit her for a full lesson this week, so maybe there'll be more news about her next week.
Finally my new companion, Elder Rojas, is completely capo. After his training, his trainer left to be an asistente to the President, so he was basically trained by an asistente. He works really well, teaches really well, plays some bomb chess. I like him, he's fun. More stories to come!
Nos vemos!
