Week 25 - First week of Argentina
Well honestly this week was really interesting to be in my second area. It's actually ginormous. Seriously, I thought Barrio 7 was a big area but Concepcion del Uruguay is AT LEAST 7 times bigger, the second largest area in the mission. It is a city larger than South Jordan with just Elder Linares and I to work in it, but honestly, I love my area. It's actually really nice.
Secondly, Elder Linares is super cool. We found out we have basically the same taste in music and we both play guitar so that'll be fun during the change. I also really like the way he teaches. I noticed very quickly that I had begun to just teach the information, but I had stopped just bearing pure testimony of it honestly. I don't know when I let that slip but I got it back so it's all good. Elder Linares is a little more shy so we've made it our goal for this change that we're going to be way more bold.
So for right now we have 4 people that are progressing here pretty well. 3 of them can't have a fecha (date) yet because they aren't married (the guy of the one of the couples is a less active.) The other woman is named Jesica; she just needs to stop smoking and finish getting her church attendances. She's really impressive in her disposition to change, she just needs to have more faith in herself and she'll be great. The wife of the less active member, is honestly 100% ready to get in the water if they can finish their marriage papers soon. They're going on 12 days in a row without smoking or drinking so we're really proud of them. The other 2, Alexis y Veronica, I still haven't met yet so I'll keep you updated when I meet them.
Well that's it for my area for now. For the next few days I'm going to be in Paysandu, Uruguay until the Christmas conference on Wednesday because it is really difficult to cross the Argentine border sometimes. I already had to pay about a 1500$ peso fee for being in Uruguay without an Uruguayan ID. (45 dollars about). So yeah I'll only be in my area from Thursday to Sunday this week, but it's fine, we can get some stuff done in that time.
Nos vemos!
