Week 30 - The week where I move up a bit
I will start this letter off to those of you that think my changes will be predictable, just understand... no. I already have another change of companions. I am staying here in the Paysandu zone in Concepcion del Uruguay, Argentina and I am receiving Elder Johnson. He is one change younger than me in the mission which means I am already Senior Comp and I am mildly freaking out.... so yeah.
This week was another pretty solid week. Not quite as nuts as Elder Linares and I were able to do last week, honestly we did not put in the same "next level" effort. We kind of dropped a little bit; still more than our first 4 weeks but not quite the same.
Lots of people lost their baptismal dates unfortunately. People have to come to church 3 times before they get baptized, so if they don't have the possibility of 3 church attendances before their programmed baptismal date, they lose it. But we still have 2 people that have their baptismal dates.
First of all, Family R. We had to drop them in the end. They were going so well for a second, but we found out in a charla (discussion) this week that they had been less than truthful about completing commitments and they still want to attend their other church and not ours anymore. It was really sad for me because we have visited them a lot this change, but if they're not going to progress, we have to use our time focusing in the people that are trying to progress.
D. L. is the only person that kept their baptismal date for February 9th. He came to church on Sunday and he said he really liked it. Honestly he already understands the gist of the Gospel and everything, but we're beginning to understand a little better the severity of his drinking problem. Nonetheless, he wants to quit and I've already seen a miraculous dropping of cigarettes in a short period of time, why not with Daniel also?
Also, S. V. still has her baptismal date for the 16th of February. She still receives us well, we just didn't find her for the charla where we planned on organizing how we were going to help her get to church that Sunday because she lives kind of far.
A. came to church also. He is super awesome and has so much faith it's impressive! His girlfriend is also really impressive and has a really good knowledge of the Bible and she's only 16! They're just living together without being married so they can't have a baptismal date yet, but they're working on it!
That's basically it for this week. Honestly, not a whole lot to tell, which I guess means there's still a whole lot more I gotta do! Haha!
Bueno, Nos vemos!

I wasn't given the names of who this photo was taken with :(
I'm guessing this is the river that acts as the border between Uruguay and Argentina.
