Week 36 - The week where we stayed dry...
Well, first things
first, D. backed out of his baptism. He decided last minute he wasn't ready to
live the Word of Wisdom and honestly has digressed in his progress a lot since
then. He started drinking MORE and has almost 0 belief that he can drop it along
with 0 desire to do it. Unless we can somehow talk to him and help him realize
that dropping alcohol will help him, we might honestly have to drop him.
Nonetheless,
the week was pretty decent honestly. We gave 4 other people baptismal dates
this week.
C. - 23rd
of March and she came to church on Sunday which is super awesome and she is
actually really excited about her baptism.
K.- K. is a
joven (youth) in a part-member family; he is 14 years old and is the only
non-baptized member of his family. He seems like he actually wants to make it
to his baptism and the family is showing some interest in coming back to church
as well! He has a fecha for the 30th of March.
J. & G.
- They both have fechas for the 30th of March but they didn't come to church so
we're going to have to work real hard to get them there next week.
We also
managed to find 10 new people to teach which is awesome! It`s been a long time
since I've found new people in the double digits and we have some really good
ones too honestly, especially one woman named P. She actually seems super
interested and wants to come to Church!
Other than
that there isn't a whole lot to report on. We had changes this week in the
mission but Elder Johnson and I are staying together here in Argentina so nothing
much to report there.
Spiritual
Thought: I was reading some of the Conference talks this week and honestly the
talk by Elder Christofferson was really cool for me this week. He talked about
the sign given by Elijah the prophet to the priests of Baal and that they later
admitted that the God of Elijah was the true God. But as we learn in Helaman
16:13-15, signs do not convert anyone, but Elder Christofferson talked about
how to have a firm faith in Christ. I love this quote. "To perservere firm
and steadfast in the faith of Christ requires that the gospel of Jesus Christ
penetrate one's heart and soul." It`s simply that. Doing things we are
asked, keeping our covenants with exactness out of a true love of God and
allowing ourselves to feel the Spirit is something that will help us have a
faith that will not undo itself no matter our situation.
Well that`s
all for this week. Nos vemos!

Bryant
being Bryant during our call.
Safe to say
he hasn't changed TOO much! Ha ha
