Week 47: The Week of some Ups and Downs

This week has been pretty good for us, but at the same time we've also had much better weeks.

During this week, M. dropped us. We were kind of upset about it just because he always read and prayed between charlas, he came to church even, but he just never felt like he got a firm answer to decide to keep listening to us and progress to baptism.

We also didn't get to have that charla with M, Y, Y, and M where we were going to invite them to baptism so that was kind of unfortunate; we'll just have to pass for them later, but this is why you invite people to be baptized in the first charla, no más.

Other than that though this week has been pretty solid! S. accepted a baptismal date this week and she came to church! We're a little worried though because her husband is a little against the church and doesn't want her to get baptized, but we're praying for a miracle there because she actually really wants to do it, we're just not sure if her husband will let her.

Other than that, we found some really great people this week! One guy, C. has already accepted fecha and is pretty convinced of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the Restoration. I love the Book of Mormon! It is so awesome!

I shared these Scriptures with my District today in my District meeting that I think are super important for not just missionaries, but for all of us. (2 Ne. 29: 1-2)

But behold, there shall be many—at that day when I shall proceed to do a marvelous work among them, that I may remember my covenants which I have made unto the children of men, that I may set my hand again the second time to recover my people, which are of the house of Israel;

And also, that I may remember the promises which I have made unto thee, Nephi, and also unto thy father, that I would remember your seed; and that the words of your seed should proceed forth out of my mouth unto your seed; and my words shall hiss forth unto the ends of the earth, for a standard unto my people, which are of the house of Israel;

The Book of Mormon really is the greatest tool to help us fortify our own testimony and to help others gain a testimony of their own! It is through the words of the prophets of the Americas that the Lord has planned on gathering Israel that Pres. Nelson talks about so much. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and for that I know that the church is true, and I´m super grateful for the chance I have to share this wonderful book with the people of Uruguay, specifically right now, the people in Tranqueras, Rivera.
I love you all! Nos vemos!
