Week 56 - The week where Member References are the Best!

This week was actually super amazing for us! The people we're teaching have made a lot of progress during this week!

 

We had a charla with L. this week that was super awesome! When we showed up he had some more questions about the Book of Mormon and he still hadn't read, so we decided to just talk about the Book of Mormon again. During that charla I asked L. what he would be willing to do if he received an answer that the Book of Mormon was true, and he just looked at us and said "Well I guess I'd get baptized!" Now there are always good answers I hear to that question, but nobody that I've taught has ever just given themselves a baptismal invitation before, so that was super cool! We challenged him to prepare to be baptized on August 3rd and he accepted! He also came to church this week and said that he enjoyed it so we're super excited for him!

 

We also had a really good charla with N. and J. after a long time without being able to have a legitimate charla with them. It was really funny because we couldn't enter the house because N.'s husband wasn't there, which is actually kind of a good thing because he is hardcore atheist and has killed the Spirit in the charlas we've had sometimes, but we couldn't enter the house. What happened was that N. and J. were sitting right inside the door and we were sitting right outside. We had a really good charla with them reviewing the Plan of Salvation and Gospel of Jesus Christ lessons, and they also surprised us with their disposition to be baptized. We challenged them for August 17th and they accepted without a problem! They also came to church and enjoyed it! N. said later that day that it was much better than the church she had to gone to before because the other one was super boring.

 

Lastly, M. T. also came to church yesterday! We weren't able to challenge her to be baptized during the week, but that's something we're going to take care of during this week. It's really impressive the amount of effort she puts into reading the Book of Mormon. She's already read all of 1 Nephi! 

 

We had a Zone Conference as well this week that was super good! President Dunford is a capo! It really goes to show that he's been prepared for this calling.

 

Last thing to share - on Friday we had the most epic soccer match I've been in of all time! Our recent convert H. went, as well as L. and J., and L. also brought a friend to the match named M. The game was so good! The best part was that even though I was the only Gringo there, they all told me they expected me to be MUCH worse than I actually was, so I guess I'm not useless then!  Let's go!

 

I'm super grateful for all the blessings the Lord has given me here in Tranqueras and for the opportunity I have to be his servant! I love you all!
