Week 62 - The Lord Hastens His Work in Colonia!

This week was really good for us honestly!

We started teaching a mother and her daughter, J. and K.   J. in all honesty isn't that interested but is super supportive of K. in learning more about God. They talked with missionaries already before and K. already had a Book of Mormon. We had 2 charlas with them this week and K. read and prayed like we asked her to and she said she felt good. She's really impressive in the charlas (even though she´s only 10) and asks really good questions and really tries to understand everything we say. She came to church too and was very well received by all the members, but J. slept in. Were hoping to be able to get her a little more interested so that K. has that support, but we´ll have to see how that goes.

On Friday we had a Family Night in the Branch. I was in charge of the game and I went with a classic that I learned in Tranqueras called "Qué pasaría si..." (What would happen if...) It was super fun and Presidente Pérez shared a really amazing message about the difference between the faith to thrust in the sickle, and the faith to harvest, and used Laman and Lemuel against Nephi as the example and it was really cool!

On Saturday we had a charla with Hermana (sister) V. and her daughter M. in the chapel and we showed them the video of the Restoration. It was a super good charla. Hna. V. has been inactive for awhile because she started to work on Sundays but recently was able to change her schedule to start coming to accompany her daughter M. who is preparing to be baptized. She is super fun to be around and while she is kind of nervous, she does want to be baptized like the rest of her family.

On Sunday, K. (as already mentioned), Hna. V. and M., and C. all came to church. C. especially is progressing well and we were going to give him a fecha (date - for a baptism) on Sunday also but he had to cancel the charla; but that's fine, we'll get him during the week.

This week I gave my District Meeting lesson on the importance of developing Christlike Attributes and the connection that has to enduring to the end. Here's a scripture I found that I liked to connect to this. Moroni 8:25-26:

25 And the first fruits of repentance is baptism; and baptism cometh by faith unto the fulfilling the commandments; and the fulfilling the commandments bringeth remission of sins;
26 And the remission of sins bringeth meekness, and lowliness of heart; and because of meekness and lowliness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer, until the end shall come, when all the saints shall dwell with God.

I love you all! Nos vemos!
