Week 70 - The week where progress returns!

This week has gone much better than these last couple weeks, and really the only reason for that is because we finally got someone to come to church again. My first change (6 weeks) in the area we always had someone in the church every week, but these last 3 weeks we haven't had anyone, so it's been a little rough, but K. finally came to church again yesterday!
First of all, C. basically dropped us. He wasn't able to get baptized because he didn't actually have an address in the area and so he basically just gave up on the church in general. I'm really hoping he gets in contact with the missionaries again, because he enjoys reading the Book of Mormon but he just feels like there's no point in going to church now because he can't get baptized. It's kind of sad really.
We weren't able to have a lesson with M. this week. We had a Family Night planned for last Wednesday but then M.'s Mom got sick and then after that, her work in the restaurant, as well as working on a voting table for the elections here in Uruguay complicated things, so we're hoping to have a little bit more contact during this week.
K. was all kinds of clutch this week though. We've definitely seen progress in her, but this week she was taking leaps and bounds! We finally got her to start reading the Book of Mormon by herself and she's actually enjoying it. We've been helping her understand the story a little more, and after reading a couple chapters we tell her that she can watch the new videos that have been coming out. We also went to pick her up for church on Sunday, and unlike the other 2 times we've gone to pick her up, we didn't wake her up - she was standing outside waiting for us! She also told us that she liked church a lot more because our Branch President became the Primary Teacher for the day! She also said that she wanted to be baptized after she saw a picture of Jesus being baptized in the church! We are honestly super excited for the progress she's made these last couple days!
There was a scripture that I read this week in Ether 12:11 that talks about a "more excellent way" after the Law of Moses was completed. Then, in the last verse of Corinthians 12 and Corinthians 13 describe that this "more excellent way" is Charity, the pure love of Christ. I saw this change in the Law of Moses to the Commandments we have now as the change from strict practices and observances to things more spiritual and especially with the changes that we are seeing now in the church. The leaders are providing programs to help us learn and progress for ourselves! I know that the current leaders of the church are guiding us to this "more excellent way" so that we may become like our Heavenly Father again someday!
I love you all! Nos vemos!
