Week 71: The Week of Record Breaking in El Real!
This week was super cool honestly! So many awesome things happened!
On Tuesday we gained a bonus lunch because some members of the other branch in Colonia invited us to go with the Hermanas in their branch to lunch with them! Afterwards we went together with the Hermanas to a charla with a woman named C. She was an office reference that was sent to the Hermanas. They had a phone number so they set up a charla with her, but later learned that she actually lives in our area which is why we went with them, and they came to kind of introduce us basically and do a pass off. So that was cool!
We also had a charla with K. and we just talked about baptism a little more and we invited her to be baptized on November 16th and she accepted! We're super stoked!
On Wednesday and Thursday in all honesty, we were basically just contacting and we visited a few members here and there. Nothing too exciting.
On Friday morning we went to visit C. again but she wasn't there. Then I had to go to another house in the area El General to dedicate for the Hermanas that are using that house sometimes because the Hermanas in Centro now have 2 areas to cover basically, and the elders that they pulled out of that area never dedicated their house. So we went there and did that, ate lunch there, super chill. Afterwards, we went back to our area and visited a couple people, and then we went to a branch activity in Centro! It was super fun and I got to meet some of the investigators of the Hermanas.
On Sunday we had a record breaking attendance of 22 since I've been in this area! I've been trying to get at least 20 people in church for a fat minute! Now we've got the goal to see it at 25! Also, K. came yesterday, as well as M. with both of her parents. Her Dad had surgery this past week and so he's going to be home all week recovering, but really he's doing really well!
This week in my District Meeting I talked about Following Christ's Example and one of my favorite scriptures about that idea is Moroni 7:48 -
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.
I love that this scripture gives us the idea that becoming like Christ, and having Charity like he has is "bestowed upon" us as a gift. We just need to do our best and repent when we mess up and push forward. At the end of the day, that's all he really asks of us.
I love you all! Nos vemos!
