Week 73 - The Week(s) of changes

So sorry that I didn't get to talk to you all last week. The guy that opens up the Family History Center here for us went to Montevideo and didn't tell us, so by the time we found out, we already had lost way too much time and I had other stuff I needed to do so I just gave up on writing.

The last week with Elder Niela was pretty good! We got the chance to visit with a lot of the members, both active and less active that we've been visiting, as well as people we were teaching and take some pictures with them. The best part is that we had a Family Night with Familia C. that was super fun. We played a lot of good card games and they made us dinner. It was super fun!

Now my changes! Elder Niela went off to a place called Salto. My new companion is Elder Reinen from Nagadoches, Texas. He has 7 months in the mission and also played tennis in high school and plays the guitar also. He's super cool and we've been getting along super well!

K. is still on to get baptized for this Saturday and we're super excited! She's been reading the Book of Mormon alone pretty well and she's still enjoying going to church! She's already passed the interview with our Zone Leaders so all is looking pretty good!

We also had a really good experience this week while we were talking with an investigator named G. She told us a difficulty that she was having in her life and she was super discouraged about it. At the end of the charla I told her that it is super important that we recognize our own weaknesses and strive to overcome them but at the same time we can't beat ourselves up over them. She got really emotional when we mentioned that and the love that God has for her and that He doesn't want her to feel that way. Then she said that she was sure that we were servants of God.

I learned from this experience that the most important thing we can do in the work is help people to feel the Spirit. In Preach My Gospel it says that we can obtain the Spirit by praying for it, being pure in heart and keeping the commandments, treasuring up the word in our minds and exercising faith. I invite all of you to be able to choose a way that you may be able to feel and follow the Spirit more in your lives to be able to touch the lives of those around you.

I love you all! Nos vemos!

Didn't get the story behind this one but looks like it might be the
Family Home Evening night he mentions in his letter.
