Week 75: The Week of Being Blessed for Persecution

This week has been super interesting for various reasons.

First of all we did divisions with our Zone Leaders on Tuesday. It was weird because they decided to send me to the Zone Leaders' area even though Elder Reinen only had like 2 weeks in the area, but oh well! It was super fun being with Elder Evans, he's a good missionary who loves showing his love to everyone. That's always been his focus and I'd say it's a pretty good one to have.

Wednesday was my month birthday in the mission. I've made it to 17 months since I've left and man time really flies. We also had a really cool charla on Wednesday too with T. and E. They've talked to missionaries before and even mentioned the peace that they felt when they were visiting them. We hope they'll be able to progress but they have a couple of obstacles to be able to come to church.

On Thursday, we got to have our interviews with President Dunford and interestingly enough he told me straight up that I'm going to stay here in Colonia for another change after this one, so I'm really looking forward to that! Colonia is a great place!

We had a really good charla with C. on Friday; we talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it was great. She has the desires to be baptized but for right now she still hasn't come to church since we've been teaching her so we're going to focus on that first!

Matthew 5:10-12
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
I share this just because this week has had a little bit more persecution than normal with strong rejections, being preached to by other preachers, and to top it off, someone threw a rock at me yesterday. So that was great. Really though at the end of the day, joy is the right of the saints that strive to keep the commandments and can even be felt in trials. I consider these blessings to be the joy that can be felt even in the persecution. I know this church is true and the Christ lives!
I love you all! Nos vemos!
-Elder Martin
