Week 76 - The week where we just keep on keeping on

Well this week was pretty good honestly, but pretty tranquilo (calm), no más.

This week we finally did get the opportunity to teach K's mom, J, a little bit. She's no longer studying because it's summer here, so now she has a lot more time to be able to talk with us. She has a super strong testimony of God, but doesn't feel like she needs to go to a church. We were having a really good charla but then she and K had to go somewhere. They were out of town this weekend so she didn't go to church but here's hoping for next week!

We also met 2 jovenes (youth) this week named E and P that are super nice and used to go to the church with their grandpa until he passed away. We talked about the Restoration with them and it was really good; they said they would go to church on Sunday but didn't so that was a little rough.

We also had a pretty good charla with C this week but she also didn't come to church this week. She's told us multiple times that she wants to be baptized but she still hasn't come to church yet so we're really hoping we can talk to her about that and get her to go this week.

Fun note real quick
1. Today, Elder Reinen and I went to another city her in Colonia called Nueva Helvecia and played tennis with the Zone Leaders. It felt so good playing tennis after so long!

2. After that, Elder Reinen and I went to lunch with the Hermanas in my district to a pizza buffet! I ate WAY too much pizza.

Anyway, I read this scripture this morning and there was one part of it that called my attention a little more than usual.
(Ether 12:27)
And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

I loved that first line that said God can show us our weaknesses. God shows us our weaknesses so that we can improve and he does it through the power of the Holy Ghost. That reminded me of a talk from a while ago that I really liked called "Lord is it I?" by Elder Uchtdorf. I recommend that you look up that talk, it is great!

I love you all! Nos vemos!

-Elder Martin
